LOVEMESIMPLE

rustic ranch wedding

Happy Love Month everyone! I thought it would be wonderful to start off February with a real couple in love—Steve and Emily. They are the sweetest couple I have ever met—and their love for each other is evidently genuine as soon as you are around them.

I recently had the pleasure of planning their adorable ranch wedding. They wanted their special day to feel like a big backyard party, and more than anything for their guests to relax and have fun (I would have to say we accomplished this despite the seriously cold temperature that day!) Samuel Potter captured Steve and Emily’s rainy November day beautifully.

southern california engagement shoot

I am thrilled to share some incredibly stunning photos from Angi Welsch with you all today! Meet Seth and Megan. This fun and creative couple met at Biola University and started their relationship writing letters to each other while Megan was in the Philippines and Seth was in Africa. Being typical California kids, they wrote about how much they missed the ocean and wished they were enjoying the sunshine together.

The day Seth got back to california he took Megan to Newport Beach and asked her to be his girl. Exactly one year later, he asked her to marry him in the exact same place. Can they get any more adorable?

Seth and Megan’s talented photographer is a former roommate of Megan’s and studied photography with Seth in college. Her and Megan styled the shoot together at the Long Beach Nature Center, editorial style in an overgrown field, and in an old sea foam green station wagon. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous work with us, Angi!

holiday party inspiration

My photo inspiration for today is for all of you lovely hostesses bringing people together to delight in fabulous decor, homemade mulled wine and traditions that are looked forward to each holiday season. I have a passion for entertaining and believe Christmas is one of the best times to celebrate the blessings of love and life.

Here are two montages of gorgeous holiday inspiration—including decor, favors, and fashion—and I am head over heels in love with both of them! The first has a beautiful neutral color palette with a few bright pops of the perfect holiday red. This collection is the perfect mix of modern style and touches of old fashioned detail.

Holiday Party Inspiration - Neutrals

Because I can find any excuse to create an inspiration board using pretty pink tones and sparkly accents, the second collection is exactly that. This palette is a bit more unexpected—while still being classy, gorgeous and fun. Enjoy, be inspired, and have a ball hostessing and going to your holiday parties this year!

diy: guest book table

Instead of renting 8 foot tables from your rental company only to cover them with boring linens and use half the space, look for unique furniture around your house that you can use to display all of your fun details!
I bought this vanity at Target four years ago and have had it in my bedroom since. Two years ago, I took the mirror off and used it as a desk. Last year, I turned it back into a vanity with a vintage mirror I picked up at a local antique store.

Recently I decided I was ready for a change with the vanity and chose some purple paint and new knobs for it. I sanded it down, painted it and set up this table as an example of a guest book table for a wedding. I love how simple but pretty the white kale looks in small bud vases, as well as the vase of all white anenomes and ranunculus. Another fun idea I used is a vintage art book as a guest book. Your friends and family can write their well wishes on pages of lovely images and your guest book will easily become your favorite coffee table book to be enjoyed by everyone you entertain at home!
